Those filthy, violent thoughts in your head—where do they come from?
In the near future, energy prices have spiked. Immigrants are flooding over America’s borders and tensions are flaring across the Midwest. Unseen by all except one, the Demon is whispering its vile lies into the ears of the unsuspecting, preparing the land for the coming apocalypse.
Such is Lydia Cloveheart’s terrible secret. She’s the only one who knows the truth, and for her special sight, the Demon’s dark shadowy minions haunt her relentlessly, trying to drive her mad.
The Whispers of the Fallen Angel is Lydia’s tale as she comes to age, struggling with her visions and her grip on sanity. Psychic powers bear such resemblance to schizophrenia, and reality is a subjective term. Her secret is tearing at her soul, pushing her closer to the precipice and closer to being truly evil. Redemption will require a fight for her soul. Prepare to enter the warped mind of our anti-hero.
Lydia is a fighter, armed with the power of Goth… and a few knives concealed in her leather jacket. Depressants help her sleep and daily mischief keeps her focused. The apocalypse will burn down her city of Greenfield, but she has an exit plan. When she turns sixteen, she’s dropping of school and eloping with her boyfriend, Hugh.
Surviving to sixteen may pose problematic, though. Her years of being an anti-establishment miscreant has created a lot of enemies. The football team seems keen on lynching her and the 51st Street Gang is hunting her down for a drug debt. And all of her enemies’ strings are being pulled by the Demon.
Black lipstick…
Knives…
Explosives…
A fight is coming. Will she come out with her soul intact?
Parental advisory Although the protagonist is a teenager, this novel may be inappropriate for readers under fifteen years of age due to disturbing psychological content, strong language, and violent imagery.

Whispers of the Fallen Angel edition by Patricia E Rath Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I just couldn't put it down.I just love this book. Read this book and enjoy it as I did.
I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.
I am torn between giving this book a 4 star review for the twisted creativity and a 2 star review as it got really confusing at times.
The story ended with an interesting premise but the middle got muddied up and felt forced in trying to achieve the goal the author set out.
It was interesting and I had a desire to actually finish the book so a 3 star rating was earned.
It's a dark book but an interesting take on demons and mental health.
And that is quite a claim, given that I've been reading 3-10 or more books a week for the last 55+ years. I'm not a literature snob, either; I've loved horror, SF, & all sorts of genre fiction forever. But there's limits. All I can say is, thank god for the free sample.
We focus on Lydia, the poor orphaned goth girl moron delinquent druggie who manages to simultaneously act like a self-pitying little twit and the most spoiled brat imaginable. Her biggest success in life is to pipe-bomb the jocks' toilet, and boy is she ever proud of it. Oh, and she speaks to & is haunted by these evil Death Shade things, horrific supernatural beings so terrifying that they can take over other people & force them to...taunt her, say unkind things, & threaten to arrest her. Yeah, that's major terrifying evil.
At first I assumed she was the antagonist. No luck; I think we're supposed to feel sympathy for her. Ha! Other characters are neither better described nor less cardboard caricature.
Maybe this is supposed to appeal to high school age readers? I dunno; I couldn't stand writing or characters (or real people) like this even when I was in high school. Vacuum-of-space level of suckage.
Great Read!
